Lecture Plan of Signals & Systems (IEC-402)

 Course Objective

As part of this course, student

1. Understanding the fundamental characteristics of signals and systems.

2. Understanding signals and systems in terms of both the time/space and transform domains, taking advantage of the complementary insights and tools that these different perspectives provide.

3. Development of the mathematical skills to solve problems involving convolution, filtering, modulation and sampling.

 4. Make basic use of professional tools such as Matlab, Octave or Mathematica for signal and system analysis.

Learning Outcomes

1. General signals and system properties.

2. Time and frequency domain representation of linear signals and  systems.

3. Linear, time-invariant (LTI) systems.

4. Discrete-time (DT) Fourier Transforms, Continuous-time (CT) Fourier Transforms & Z Transforms.

5. Convolution, sum and integral of the functions.
